Journal With Me | Victoria's Secret Inspired

Today I'm going to be doing another Journal With Me like I did the other week but today's Journal With Me was inspired by Victoria's Secret so I used the stuff I had from Victoria's Secret (like the tissue paper) to create these pages and I love the pink-ness as pink is my favourite colour.

Firstly I start with 2 blank pages and sometimes I know what I want to journal about or other times I have no idea but I knew I wanted to do a Victoria's Secret page because I recently went there.

Then I collect everything I want to use and for these pages it included the Victoria's Secret bag, receipt and tissue paper.

After sticking down the wrapping paper as a background I chose what washi tape I wanted to use around the edges.

I wanted to do something with the bag so I decided to cut out the logo and stick it down so that I remember where I went and what these pages are.

There was a lot of room left on the left page so I decided to cut out some hearts using the rest of the bag. Warning- I can't cut hearts so these did end up looking a bit weird but I don't mind if my journal is a little messy and not perfect.

Using the other sheet of tissue paper I stuck down the receipt so in the future I'll know what I bought and I stuck it down on a different sheet of wrapping paper so that had a separate background and I thought it looks really nice.

With the handles of the bag I stuck down one underneath the title and looking back I don't know why I did this as it looks a bit weird but at the time of making this I must have had a good enough reason.

I also used some emoji stickers just to symbolise about Victoria's Secret so I used the heart, the sassy girl doing a hair flick and the heart eyes. I did use some more but I forgot what ones but they'll be in the next picture.

That's the finished product. The tissue paper is from Victoria's Secret (the one that comes in the bag) and the washi tape and emoji stickers are from Paperchase. If you liked this themed Journal With Me let me know as I'll continue them.

Journaling Tag

Today I'm going to do be doing a Journaling Tag because I haven't done a journaling post for a while (although I just remember I did a Journal With Me not to long ago) and I wanted to do one so why not do the journaling tag so you can find out more about my journals and everything like that!

1. Which kind of journaling do you do?
I creative journal which is basically decorating everything. Recently I haven't been doing much writing in my strictly creative journal but I do have a daily journal where I write about my day (like a diary pretty much) but I also decorate it and I decorate it how I'm feeling that day so everything is different.

2. Do you have different journals for different topics?
Yes because I like separating things. I used to only have one journal but because I love journaling so much I wanted to separate everything in that one journal.

3. When did you start?

I journal-ed on and off for a couple of years and I started my creative journal at the end of May and I started my daily journal at the end of June.

4. How often do you write in your journal?

I do my creative journal when I have time and when I'm in the right mood and I daily journal every night and I usually do it at like 8pm.

5. What are your favourite tools for journaling?
Washi tape and coloured paper.

6. Would you like to show us some of your journals?

Yes. The kraft notebook with polka dots on is from WHSmith but I drew on the circles and
my daily journal is an A4 exercise book from Paperchase

7. Why do you do it?
Because I want to and it's a fun hobby!

8. How has journaling influenced your life?
It has made me more creative because naturally I'm not a creative person but since journaling I've been more creative, which I like as I've always wanted to be a creative person.

9. What topics do you like to write about?
I only write about my day which I actually like doing.

10. How do you make time for journaling?
I always have to daily journal at 8pm so naturally I just reach for that journal at that time of day but for creative journal I plan it in my planner when I'm planning on Sunday night and it's always a different day every week but at the moment I'm so behind in my journal and it's really annoying.

11. Do you have tips for people who want to start the habit?
Buy a notebook and start writing every night about your day. Also watching some YouTube videos for some inspiration if you're going to creative journal. Regardless have fun!

That's my version of the journaling tag and I hope you enjoyed it. I'm not going to tag anyone in particular so anyone can do it!

Journal With Me- 1

Today I have the first Journal With Me which is like a plan with me but it's me creating journal pages. On YouTube I like watching journaling sessions and I wanted to do my own but as I don't have a YouTube channel I obviously had to do a blog post showing you step by step how I made this random spread.

I had some spare loose wrapping paper after making my DIY corkboard so instead of chucking it away I thought I would use it as background paper for my journal and I've done this before and looks really cute at the end.

I then stuck some washi tape around the side and I had to use 2 different types but similar designs as the stripes didn't have enough but I like the mis-matched look.

This is inside my journal box and I wanted these pages to be completely random so I just digged through my box and found some random things which I had completed.

This is what I chose and I used most of what is here but I didn't have enough room for everything so things I didn't use this time will be used another time.

I like sticking things on top of things and then sticking that down- that's a theme in my journal- so here I stuck a receipt on some card with sellotape and I stuck that onto the page and it just adds a cute touch.

So this is what I've done so far and most things I stick down with Pritt stick (or any other glue stick but Pritt Stick is the best) but for to be extra secure or if something doesn't stick I will use sellotape- like sticking the receipt onto the card.

More progress!

Even more progress!

This is the final product!

This is just a simple journal page but I just wanted to get the stuff in my journal box stuck down as my box is overflowing. I will be doing more journal with me's in the near future and my next one is themed! Woo!

Wilko Haul

Today I have another Wilko Haul as I picked up some new goodies and I went to Wilko with the intention of repurchasing my skincare (which I did) and also some journaling supplies as I can never have too many supplies.

As I said I got my skincare which is the Skin Therapy Tea Tree Facial Wash, Skin Therapy Tea Tree Gentle Facial Scrub and the Skin Therapy Tea Tree Moisturising Lotion. The face wash I use everyday but the scrub and moisturising lotion I only use every other day so one day I will just use the face wash and the next day I will use all three. Lastly on the beauty sides of things I got the Radox Feel Glam Shower Cream with Berry Burst because you always need shower gels.

For storage I bought Wilko 5 Stackable Storage Pots for any random little bits and bobs on my desk like paperclips and push pins. Then because I have lots of pens I got two more pen pots and these ones are the Wilko Copper Pen Pots which are really nice and different and add a touch of glamour to my boring desk.

All of the journaling supplies I got were some Dovercraft Peel Off Stickers because I needed some alphabet stickers as I had none, then I got Wilko Let's Create 20 Wax Crayons; yes I know these are childish but I wanted the effect in my journal and to go along with them I got Wilko Let's Create 50 Colouring Pencils but these are more for my colouring book. To add decoration to my journal I got Wilko Let's Create 30 Fabric Flowers and these have really pretty colours in and finally I got Wilko 12 Neon Stars so I can add captions to pages.

Prices-
All skincare- 95p each
Radox Shower Cream- 95p
Storage Pots- £1.50
Pen Pots- £1.50 each
Stickers- 50p
Crayons- £1
Colouring Pencils- £2.50
Fabric Flowers- £1
Neon Stars- 80p

That was everything I bought in Wilko. I probably won't go for a while now as there's like nothing else I can get for my journal as I have so many journal stuff and there's a lot I don't use too often so I obviously know what my favourites are.

Journal 101 | Haul & Tips

Recently I have really been getting into journalling and found that it's a good hobby to have. As this blog is about everything I love I wanted to do a post on journalling as it's what I've been loving at the moment and as I said in my What To Do This Summer When Bored post you could start journalling so today I've thrown together a haul, a what you need list and tips to get started.

Haul- WHSmith
-Bramble Wood 30cm Flexi Ruler £2.99
-Bramble Wood 6 Assorted Sticky Notes Book £3.49
-WHSmith 10 Colour Ballpen £3.49
-WHSmith Simply Style A4 Wide Ruled Notebook £3.99
-39 Zoo Stickers £1.99
-44 Flower Stickers £1.99
-56 Large Foil Heart Stickers £1.99
-25 Elephant Stickers £1.99
(The stickers were buy 1 get one free)

I love all of my purchases from WHSmith and they are all essentials for me in a journal. The notebook is my journal but I have since DIY-ed it because it was too plain for my liking so I drew on black polka dots with a Sharpie so when you see it in the other pictures it will look a bit different. I love using stickers in my journal because when there's a blank space it adds something and doesn't look as boring so that's why I got a variety of different designers. Last thing I'm going to talk about is the ball pen and this one is good because all the colours are in one place so it's good if you was to journal on the go (which I don't do)

Haul- Tesco
-Pritt Original Glue Stick 22g £1.75
-Hallmark Gallery Rose Tinted Card £1.50
-Go Create Craft Paper 9 Sheets £1.50
-Go Create 100 Sheets Coloured Paper £1.50

I went to Tesco in the hope of finding some colour paper and I also came out with some other journal supplies. Both packs of the colour paper look really great in my journal and I love using other paper in my journal as I like sticking stuff on top of it like images. I also bought a glue stick as there's a lot of sticking in my journal so I needed something and I got Pritt Stick as it's a good name. Lastly I bought a cute card just to stick in one of the pages for when I wanted to do a decoration page with stickers and washi tape.

Haul- Wilko
-Wilko 4 Chunky Highlighters 50p
-Wilko Geometry Set- 4 Piece Set 50p
-Wilko 2 Mechanical Pencils with Refills 75p
-Wilko 10 Wooden HB Pencils 50p
-Zebra Z-Grip Smooth 5 Pack Assorted £1.75
-Wilko Index Cards Multicoloured Pack 50p
-Wilko Micro Tape Roller £1.50
-Wilko Pink Clipboard Folder £1
-Wilko Let's Create 4 Glue Sticks- 2x21g 2x15g
-Wilko 16 I Love Cats Push Pins £1.50

As you can see I bought most of my supplies from Wilko because they are cheap so if you want to see if you like it buy a couple of things from Wilko like your journalling notebook and I also bought them in Wilko because they had the stuff I wanted. I bought some flashcards because in my journal I use them to write titles in and for extra information and I liked these ones as they had colourful borders. I bought some highlighters because I love neon stuff and I like colouring blank spaces with them so there's more colour. I also bought some Zebra colourful pens because I really like the colours and the pens are good pens which write smoothly.

What You Need-
-Notebook
-Pen/Pencil
-Colour biros
-Glue stick
-Washi tape for decoration
-Stickers
-Clipboard
-Colourful paper and card
-Cute flashcards/revision cards
-Somewhere to store all of this e.g. storage box

Tips-
-You don't need everything that I talked about; it's just your personal style on how you like to decorate

-Keep everything so you know what you did on 7/6/16 in 47 years time. I like to keep receipts, bits from shopping bags, coupons and everything!

-Clipboards are handy if you like making stuff on other pieces of paper and then sticking them in- e.g. drawings if you have a lined notebook and you want to do it on plain paper

-You don't need to make a journal out of an A4 notebook you could make it out of a binder (which I used to do) or a refill pad (which I've also tried). You could also do it whatever size you want (A5, A4)

-Don't force yourself to journal everyday- I like to do it on free days so I can completely zone out and enjoy it not worrying about time.

-You could use your journal for inspiration, which I like to do sometimes, and stick in pictures of clothes that I really like.

-Stickers really add something to the page and are a good filler if you have blank space and don't know what to put

That's all of my tips and my 101 on journalling. Obviously you don't need everything I mentioned as it's about personal style and everyone's journals will be different at the end of the day but this what I like to use and how I journal in case you was wondering and hopefully it gave you some inspiration.
