Rimmel Volume Shake Mascara | Review

Last month I was makeup shopping in Boots when I saw this new Rimmel mascara and saw that it was on offer. I have never tried a Rimmel mascara before this so I decided to buy it and test it out. Also I hadn't heard anything about this mascara before (I haven't been watching many makeup videos recently) so this was very brand new to me and these are my first opinions.

My thoughts-
-It has a very wet formula which can get very messy and I did find that it went around my eyes but that's probably because I'm quite careless.
-It's very volumising which the same suggests and I really liked how my lashes looked after using this mascara.
-It also made my lashes quite long too which I weren't expecting but I liked it as I LOVE long lashes.
-The packaging is quite boring colour wise; it is also quite heavy (9g) which means you get a lot of product in. This mascara is supposed to last 12 months so that is pretty amazing.
-Wish it was waterproof as I feel more confident wearing waterproof mascara. I don't know if this smudges if you cried when wearing it as I didn't test that out.
-No clumps which is amazing!
-Would recommend and I would give it 4.5/5

The shake aspect of this mascara is pretty cool as it means when the mascara dries up you just shake the mascara and it will be fresh again. This is a genius idea especially as your only supposed to use a mascara for three months and it takes me more than to finish off a whole mascara.

Overall I really like this mascara and would recommend it, especially if it takes you a while to finish a mascara or if you just want a good mascara as this is a good one! For more of me follow me on Twitter (@TheLipInsider) and Instagram (@thelipstickinsider)!

Makeup Collection + Storage | April 2017

Recently I got some new drawers to organise my makeup collection and also my other beauty products so today I'm going to be sharing that with you. The drawers are from Amazon and were £19.99 but there was the shipping price of £8 on top. I'm really happy with how everything is organised at the moment so that's why today I'm going to share it with you.

On the top of the drawers I currently have my bag and M&Ms from M&M World and also some sunglasses as I didn't know where to store them. In the basket (which is from Tiger) I have spare makeup brushes, hairbrushes, a lint roller and also some pens and highlighters in a pencil case from Superdry.

The first drawer is face products. Firstly we have all my foundations at the front and to the left of them we have two blushes and behind them is powders and mirrors. Behind the foundations I have my blushes and on top of my blush palette from Makeup Revolution I have a setting spray from Maybelline and a brush cleaner from Studio London.

The second drawer is eye products. At the front we have eyeshadow palettes and to the left there is cream eyeshadows. In the middle there is a pencil sharpener and an eyelash curler. At the back I have three eyeshadow quads from Technic and next to them I have a lot of mascaras and next to them I have some mini Victoria's Secret sprays and a Victoria's Secret rollerball.

The third drawer is lip products. At the front there is all my lipsticks, lip glosses, lip crayons, you name it, it's there and it's very messy as they all move about. At the back I have lip balms and my Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub, which I love.

The fourth drawer is body care. It is very messy but it was very hard to get them all neat but fit but I don't care it is messy to be honest. I have shower gels, body lotions, a hand cream and also a pack of makeup wipes.

The fifth drawer is more body care as it didn't fit all in one drawer. In this drawer I have sponges, body sprays, cotton wool pads/buds. body lotions and other random body care bits.

The sixth drawer is my nail polish collection. I wanted to have them all standing up but they didn't all fit so some are standing up down the side but at the back I have the rest laying down. At the front I have other nails bits like remover, fast dry spray and them toe seperator things that I never actually use.

The seventh drawer is my bubble bars from Lush. I have quite a few and these are quite hard to store as they're all awkward sizes and the bags are crumpled so this drawer is quite messy. I also have a random body mist from Boots In here because there was space for it.

The eighth drawer are bath bombs from Lush. These just about fitted in the drawer and it is quite a squeeze when trying to open or close the drawer but at least this means that I cant buy anymore for a while.

The ninth drawer just has papers in. These last two drawers have stationery bits in that didn't fit around my desk. In here I have a pencil case, a whiteboard and all random papers that I have lying around that I want to keep.

The final drawer also has stationery bits in. On top we have some packs of felt tips, then a catalogue that I want to read, then my science revision guide and right at the bottom is my refill pad which I use for revision notes. Down the side I have two phone chargers but my other one is in my bucket on the top.

I really hope you enjoyed seeing inside my drawers and my makeup collection. If my makeup collection changes I will do an updated post but I don't think it will change anytime soon. Make sure you followed my Twitter @thelipinsider and my Instagram @thelipstickinsider

Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Setting Spray | Review

Today I'm going to be doing a makeup review because I really want to do more and I've got a few planned so look put for those but today I'm going to be reviewing the Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Makeup Locking Setting Spray because I wasn't a fan of it and I wanted to share my opinion on it.

Product- Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Makeup Locking Setting Spray
Price- £6.99
Where from- Superdrug
Rating- 1/5

So as you can tell by my rating I didn't like this product and that's because it leaves white marks over my face which made me look sunburnt and flaky and obviously I couldn't go out like that (even though I nearly did). I know there is a way to stop that from happening but I've tried it and it didn't work for me although it might work for others and I have no idea how to solve it as I tried the method of spraying it far away from my face. A good point is I do like the packaging but not the product inside. I really want to try a setting spray so if you know any good ones let me know so I can try out.

As I'm sure you can guess I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone and that's really disappointing because I did want to like it and use it but obviously it did have a major problem. Let me know some good setting sprays in the comments below and also let me know if you have tried this setting spray and what you thought of it.

School Makeup Routine | January 2017

When I go to school I wear different makeup to what I would wear when I'm not at school so I thought I would share my school makeup routine. I also have a few new makeup products that I picked up recently to share with you and I'll included my opinions on the products when I get to them.

So firstly I start with foundation and the foundation I'm currently using is the Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation and I recently picked it up from Boots and I love it. It's perfect for school because it's quite natural and it gives a low-medium coverage which is what I want for school. What I do is pump some onto my blending sponge, dab it onto my face and then blend it in with a foundation brush and if I have to go back in with the blending sponge; yes I know that's a weird way to apply and blend in foundation.

Then for concealer I will use the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and use that for my under eye circles and also any spots. I've had this forever and I'm using it up as I don't think it's that good as it doesn't last and it's all gone by midday so I'm waiting to use my Rimmel concealer. I apply this by using a concealer brush then going in with my blending sponge.

I will then powder my face using the Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder and I do like this powder but I want to try some others to see what ones I really like. I apply using a powder brush from Studio London.

The last product from the face category is blush and my new favourite blush is from MAC and is the MAC Powder Blush in Fleur Power. It's such a lovely colour and looks really natural and it lasts all day, something which my Makeup Revolution blushes didn't do. I apply this using a Studio London brush.

I don't do much with my eyes apart from mascara and I'm still using the Maybelline Go Extreme Waterproof Mascara and I didn't really like it at first but I do like it now after wearing it for quite a while. This isn't really that natural so I have to try not to put on too much.

For the lips I don't wear any lip product because I don't want to keep applying it as that's annoying throughout school so I just wear lip balm and at the moment my favourite lip balm is the eos Pomegranate Raspberry Lip Balm and it's really moisturising and it's got a nice scent.

That is my school makeup routine and yes I know I don't wear that much but I like to keep my makeup natural and also who can be bothered in the morning to do winged liner because I know I can't.

Everyday Makeup Routine | January 2017

Today I'm back with a new post and it's going to be an everyday makeup routine because I don't normally do tutorials but I do want to start doing some more in 2017 and to start off it's good to show you what I wear on a regular basis. I don't also wear all of this to school and if you want a School Makeup Look let me know in the comments below.

Firstly starting off with face makeup and my first step is foundation. The foundation I'm using at the moment is the Rimmel London Wake Me Up Anti-Fatigue Foundation in 103 True Ivory and I have done a review on that so go and have a read if you haven't already. After blending that in with my Beauty Blender and a foundation brush I go onto concealer and I'm using the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 3 Warm Medium; I do like this concealer but it doesn't last all day, even with powder. I will then set my foundation and concealer with the Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in 001 Transparent and I really like it. Moving onto blush I will use the Makeup Revolution London Ultra Blush Palette in Sugar & Spice and everyday I wear a different shade depending on what mood I'm in. After blusher it's bronzer and I use the Collection Bronze Glow Mosaic Powder in 2 Radiant and this is for a little shine.

At the moment I'm not using any eyeshadow because my eyeshadow palette smashed and I'm not too keen on the other ones in my collection so I need to get a new one. Anyway I use the Rimmel London Brow This Way Brow Styling Gel in 004 Clear just to set my eyebrows and on my eyelashes I use the Maybelline New York The Colossal Go Extreme Waterproof Mascara and this isn't really that natural but I like bold lashes.

Lastly we have lips. I moisturise them using the Vaseline Lip Therapy in Cocoa Butter and I usually do this before I start my makeup but I do forget sometimes. For colour on my lips I might wear the Collection Moisturising Lip Butter in Paper Rose and I wear this because it's natural while also moisturising the lips.

That's my everyday makeup routine and as I mentioned at the start of this blog post I don't wear all of this makeup to school so if you want a school makeup routine let me know in the comments below.

Makeup Collection

Todays post is a post I'm so excited about because today I'm finally going to be showing you my makeup collection. I know I have more makeup than I need but I love buying makeup and I do have a weakness for a lot of makeup products (mascaras, lipsticks and palettes are my biggest).

Most of my makeup is stored in these acrylic drawers which are from Tiger (the top 2 and thing on top) and Primark (the bottom four) but in this wooden crate, from Primark, I have two more acrylic storage that stores lip products and they're both from Tiger. I really like my makeup storage and it was really cheap.

This is what I keep on top of the drawers and it's four of my mini Victoria's Secret body mists (from L-R Exotic, Love Spell, Aqua Kiss and Temptation) and also a Victoria's Secret rollerball in the Crush scent. I also have a brush cleanser from Studio London and a sharpener, also from Studio London.

The first drawer contains face products so the three extra foundations I have are the Collection Naturally Matt Foundation, Miss Sporty Insta Glow Foundation and the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation. I also have the Fit Me concealer and two blushes- one from Technic and a MUA blush in Bubble Gum.

The second drawer is also face products and I keep my Makeup Revolution Blush Palette in Hot Spice, the Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer, the MUA Mosaic Bronzer, a Technic Powder and finally a Miss Sporty Insta Glow Foundation.

Now the next three drawers are all about eye products so I have the Barry M Natural Glow Eyeshadow and Primer Palette 2 and also a PS... 8 Shade Day Eyeshadow Palette, which wouldn't open when I tried to take a picture of it. The rest of the products are from Technic and there's some eyeshadow applicators, two eyeliners (a brown and black) and three cream eyeshadows in white, orange and blue.

The fourth drawer down is another drawer dedicated to eyes but I also have a Zoella Beauty Blissful Mistful Solid Fragrance because I didn't know where to put it. I also have a Collection Eyes Uncovered Palette because it didn't fit in the third drawer, three little Technic eyeshadows quads and two Collection mascaras- the Super Size and Longer Lash.

The last drawer is mainly about mascaras but there's also my only brow product but that should probably go into my everyday makeup bag. The mascaras I have are the Miss Sporty Pump Up 24 Booster Waterproof Mascara, Technic Get Lashed Mascara, PS... Volumising Mascara, Technic Monster Lash Mascara and my favourite Essence All Eyes On Me Waterproof Mascara. The brow product I have is the Rimmel London Brow This Way Clear Brow Gel.

The last drawer is my lip drawer and inside I have a Collection Lasting Colour Lipstick in a nude shade (can't remember the name), a PS... Matte lip crayon in Nude Beach, a red PS... lip crayon, a Collection Work The Colour Lip Crayon, two of the PS... Liquid Lipsticks, two lip liners from Technic and a Zoella Kissy Missy Lip Balm.

The rest of my lip products are in acrylic storage from Tiger and this particular one was £3. The first row I have some of my Baby Lips, the second row has two Collection Lasting Colour Lipsticks and a lipstick from Technic and the last row has two more Collection Lasting Colour Lipsticks and a Technic Lip Gloss.

This is the other acrylic storage from Tiger and this one was £4 because it's a little bigger. Firstly on the left I have three body sprays and a L'Oreal hairspray. Then on the first row I have a Barry M lipstick, a Clinque lipstick and a Technic lipgloss. The second row has two nude Technic lipsticks and a Givency Nude Lipstick and lastly the last row has Technic lip crayons and Technic lip glosses (one in nude, one in pink and the other is red).

Just thought I would quickly show you where I store my makeup brushes are stored and they're not very clean and I hate the storage but I want to get a new mug or cup for it. Most of my brushes are from Studio London and they're really good quailty.

That was my long awaited collection and I hope you enjoyed it. Sorry I didn't go into too much detail about every single product but if you would like some more information let me know in the comments below. Also follow me on Twitter (@louisecarterr) and Instagram (@thelipstickinsider)

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation Review

Recently I decided to buy the Wake Me Up Foundation from Rimmel because I've heard so many people talk about it so I wanted to test it for myself. If you like me doing reviews let me know because I like writing them and if you like them I'll do more.

I love this foundation and I'm so glad I decided to buy it. Firstly it lasts all day, which is great because obviously I don't want to reapply it. It also has SPF 15 in, which is really handy because most people forget to apply SPF in the cooler months (I know I don't wear it) and you need it because you can still get burnt. The foundation is very buildable and I like to do two pumps because I want a lot of coverage and one pump is not enough; I would say that the coverage is medium which is great because I do wear this to school. Something people may not like about this foundation is that there is glitter in it but I personally don't mind it because I do like the dewy, glittery look.

I apply this foundation by firstly squeezing it onto a beauty blender and dab it around my face and then I propaerly go in with a foundation brush and smooth it out. Overall I really like this foundation and I would give it five out of five stars. You can buy this foundation from Boots and Superdrug for £8.99
