Beauty Haul + First Impressions

I really want to start doing some more beauty posts because I really like makeup so I'm going to start off with a Beauty Haul so I have some new makeup to try out. I wanted to try some really cheap makeup to see how good it actually is so I have some goodies from Collection, Miss Sporty and MUA. I also wanted to do a first impressions so I could actually talk about the product so you know whether to buy it or not.

Collection Lengthening Mascara Waterproof Length & Definition- I've had the normal version of this but I get a lot of headaches where my eyes water so as I like the look of this mascara I thought I would get the waterproof version. It's very natural so it's perfect for school or if you're having a no-makeup, makeup day. The packaging say it's good for a night out but I disagree as it's natural looking and if I was going on a night out I would want a mascara that look like false lashes. Surprisingly it doesn't clump which is amazing for a cheap mascara. The last thing I have to say about this is that it is really fluttery and obviously that's really nice and what I want in a lengthening mascara.
This was £3.99 from Superdrug

Collection Eyes Uncovered Nude Palette- I picked this up because I've heard a lot of vloggers rave about it and I can totally understand why they have as I love this! The pigmentation is really good, especially the dark shades like Chocolate Milk, Brown Sugar and Espresso. This palette is perfect for everyday as it's got all the shades you need as there is light and darks so light for the base and inner corners and darks for the crease. It's defiantly worth the hype as it's pretty much perfect. My only complaint is that I wish there was a mirror than seeing the shades from the outside as it means it would be perfect for on the go application.
This was £3.99 from Superdrug

Collection Up To 7 Day Wear Nail Polish in 23 Sonic Blue- Collection have so many nail polish shades but I decided to buy this cobalt blue as it's so different from anything I have in my collection and it would look really nice if you want a very bold shade. You need about 2 coats for full colour which is good for a cheap nail polish but you probably would need more if you got a lighter shade. This has a very unusual smell as it smells like sick and  I don't know what it is but something else in this haul also smells like sick?!? This colour will be perfect for summer as it's very different from your usual colours but this is still bright.
This was £2.99 from Superdrug

Collection Work The Colour Lip Butter in Popping Pink 1- After getting home I realized I picked up a dodgy one as it's messy and the bullet as started to come off after 1 use *insert crying face emoji here* but I do have some impressions on it which are good! The colour is really nice and it's the pink I will always go for however it's not as bright as I thought it was going to be so make sure you look at the testers before you buy because I made that mistake! It's very moisturising as it's a lip butter and it's really pigmented for a lip butter as usually they're clear so these are really different and I also know want to try the red one as I'm loving red lips at the moment. I also like how easy they are to apply as it's a crayon and they're so easy to apply.
This was £2.99 from Superdrug

MUA Eyeshadow Palette- Undressed- I've wanted to get this for ages but my local Superdrug don't stock MUA which is a huge shame as apparently it's really good and I know it's super affordable. This is a dupe for the Naked Palette which I really want to try but it's so expensive and this palette is so good so I might not need to get the Naked palette anymore! However I want to start with a negative because this palette is so hard to open so I struggle for about 5 minutes before I actually open it. Onto the positives as this palette as this palette has 12 gorgeous shades which is a mixture between matte and shimmer which is perfect for every occasion. For £4 this is an amazing palette as the pigmentation is out of this world so everyone go and get this eye palette!
This was £4 from Superdrug

Collection Waterproof Volumising Mascara- As well as getting the lengthening mascara from Collection, I thought I should get the volumising one as well as I had never tried this one before. Sadly I was actually kind of disappointed as it wasn't very volumising but regardless of that the mascara is actually nice as an everyday mascara and I will definately finish this up as it does look really nice. Just like it's sister the lengthening mascara it doesn't clump which for me is a huge thing which annoys me about mascaras. When I opened this the brush was kinda scary as it's a lot bigger than anything I had tried before but when using it I didn't really mind it.
This was £3.99 from Superdrug

Miss Sporty Insta Glow Foundation in 003 Medium- I wasn't sure whether I was going to like this foundation but I actually really like it so I'm glad I picked this up. It claims to be a 'Photoshop effect foundation' which is too much of a bold statement because I doubt even expensive foundations are going to give you a Photoshop effect. Like with the nail polish from Collection this also smelt like sick which is weird especially as I bought them both in different branches of Superdrug. I applied this with a Beauty Blender dupe and it applied really nicely and was very even.
This was £3.49 from Superdrug

Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner- I have been looking for this product for a while now so I'm glad I've finally found it and it's really good. It applys really nicely which I wasn't expecting so that's really good. It says to be a 24 hour lasting product but I haven't tried that out as I don't think anyone would wear makeup for 24 hours- I know I couldn't! From now on this is going to be a staple in my makeup bag as I love winged eyeliner and I've found the perfect product for it.
This was £2.99 from Superdrug

Collection Lasting Colour Lipstick in 6 Cupcake Pink- I've wanted this lipstick for a long time and I actually included it in my Beauty Wishlist last year and I don't know why I hadn't got it sooner but I really like it. It's such a pretty pink and it's very like a Barbie shade of pink and that is the shade of pink I like the best. It's not drying at all but I didn't really expect that to happen as I already have a Lasting Colour lipstick. As I said I already have a Collection Lasting Perfection lipstick and I really like the whole range so now I want to get a red and more pinks from it.
This was £2.99 from Superdrug

Miss Sporty Insta Glow Blusher in 004 Glowing Mauve- I don't really wear that much blush so I wanted to change that and get a really pretty colour that will make me want to wear it more. I picked up this gorgeous pink which does look like scary when you watch it on your finger but when you blend it out on your cheeks it looks really nice and it's wearable as I'm not one for bright makeup, only lipsticks! The actual packaging of the blush is really pretty with the design and it looks like something from Dior or any other high end makeup but the actual pot it comes in does look cheap which is a shame but it does show off the pretty blush.
This was £2.99 from Superdrug

Miss Sporty My BFF Lipstick in 202 My Pretty Rose- I wasn't going to pick up anything else from Miss Sporty but Superdrug was having an offer where if you spent £5 or more on Miss Sporty you got a free My BFF Lipstick and obviously I took advantage of that offer. I picked up this beautiful berry colour which isn't that good for spring but I will have when  Autumn rolls around. The product smells like sweets which is good especially when 2 of the products smell like sick. I'm probably not going to wear this much now but when Autumn comes I'm going to wear this with the Collection eyeliner as I think that will look really nice.
I got this for free in Superdrug but usually this is £2.99

I hope you enjoyed this very long post so I do hope you are here but I really wanted to give a good first impressions and if I really like or end up disliking these products you will sure hear about them again. If you would like more from me follow me on Twitter and Instagram where my username is @_louisecarter_ and I've also been posting a lot on here recently too.

Buy, Try, Decide- Superdrug

So today on The Lipstick Insider I'm going to be starting a new series which is Buy, Try, Decide which is where I buy something I've never tried before, try it out and then decide whether I like it or not. The first place I'm trying out is Superdrug. If you have any suggestions on what other things I could buy, try and decide, let me know in the comments.

Firstly we have this Studio London Beauty Tool Set which was £4.99 however I think it was in the January sale as I'm writing this in advance. This set contains-
-A black satin pouch
-Water drop shaped sponge
-Powder brush
-Blusher brush
-Eyeshadow brush
-Blending brush
-Lip brush
-Eyebrow brush and comb
-2x Nail files

My first thought was that these brushes look like Real Techniques brushes so I'm guessing they're a dupe (I've never tried them but I really want to) for them so this is a cheaper option. They're really soft which I love. You get all the brushes you need for an everyday face and you get a pouch so you can carry these around in your bag for any top ups of if you're going on holiday. I'm glad there's a beauty blender dupe as everyone raves about it and I've wanted to try it but it's expensive. The only downfall is that the brushes are a bit hard to grip because of the slippy material.

I then got the Collection Lasting Colour Lipstick in Paper Rose 16. This is such a gorgeous colour and a wearable one so it's the perfect lipstick to keep in your bag. I also love how it's not drying on the lips which I didn't expect for a £2.99 lipstick. I know it's only £2.99 but I would've liked better packaging as it's a bit plain and boring. However it's great for the price as it's pigmented, not drying and doesn't budge when eating which for me who loves food is important, very important.

I then decided to pick up another Collection mascara as I haven't actually tried this one which is the Collection Lengthening Mascara Length & Definition which was £3.99. I was really excited to use it this and when I put it on I was disappointed because it wasn't volumizing so I didn't get any definition so only get this if you want length. It does have good length so I think this will be my mascara for school and no makeup makeup days. I don't know about you but I feel like the packaging looks like Maybelline like in the shape wise which I hadn't realized before. Another problem I have about this mascara is that there is does fall off without rubbing your eyes which is really annoying so I carry this round with makeup wipes to take off and reapply.

I then got this Miss Sporty Clubbing Colour Less Than 1 Minute Quick Dry in Lilac after I saw velvetgh0st/Gabriella and LucyAndLydia  do sponsored videos on and I thought I would try it out not really expecting anything special. This is a good colour and I don't have any lilac colours like this and as you might know pastels are my favourite colours. You need 3 coats for this to be fully opaque which I was expecting as this was only £1.99. This could've had a more inventive name as lilac is quite a boring name as I prefer cute names but I have noticed cheap polishes have less cute names. Lastly the bottle could be cuter as I love my cute stuff but I understand that's there's not a lot of money to make cute bottles but I'll live.

The two packs of wipes I have are Quickies 12 Allergen Free 4 in 1 Facial Wipes £1.99 and Carex Complete Fun Edition Strawberry Laces Wipes £1.50. The Quickies ones are a good pack to have in your bag as they remove makeup makeup, cleanses, tones and moisturises. I just want to add here that these are both from the travel sized stuff at Superdrug. The Carex ones smell amazing, good enough to eat and these are also a good pack to havein your bag as they smell nice, flat and are soft cleansing.

Finally I have the Zoella Beauty Foam Sweet Foam Cleansing Shower Gel which was £3.50 which is quite expensive for a shower gel but I'm happy to repurchase. This smells amazing and it's the same scent as the tutti frutti collection which I love. The packaging is gorgeous and I like how it's see-through so you know when to repurchase it. This is really cleansing which is good as the name suggests and finally this works well with the Zoella body scrub.

I really hope you enjoyed this and remember to let me know if you enjoyed this and also let me know what other things I can buy, try and decide! Follow me on Twitter and Instagram for updates and my username on both is @_louisecarter_. I also hope you liked this bonus extra post and I have another haul on Sunday as part of haul week which I have now called this week.
Thanks for reading
Louise
