Primark Haul

I love Primark so I thought I would show you some of my love for it with some things I recently picked up from there. These purchases are mainly homeware as the homeware was really nice but there's also a couple of other random purchases like sunglasses as the summer is approaching us.

Primark Home White Heart Cushion- I have a bit of a cushion buying obsession so when I saw this really pretty heart cushion I had to have it as I knew it would look nice on my pink and white themed bed and would also look really nice with the throw that I'm about to talk about.
This was £3

Primark Home Super Soft Cream Throw- Getting a throw was something I was thinking about for ages so when I felt this one I had to have it as I had recently re-done my room and thought it would make my bedroom look more classy but cute at the same time. I also like to use this as a background for Instagram photos as I love a white background.
This was £4.50

P.S. Love Waterproof Mascara in Black- I've tried one P.S. Love mascara in the past and it's really good so I thought I would pick up a waterproof mascara as during the day I only wear waterproof mascara (because when I get headaches my eyes water) so I wanted to see if it was any good like the other one.
This was £2

Yellow Mirror Sunglasses- At the end of the summer last year my sunglasses broke so I needed to get some new ones and I had wanted some aviators for ages so I picked these ones up. They're also mirrored but not that much as I don't like the majorly mirrored ones only the ones with a yellow tint like these.
This was £2

Unicorn Trinket- I really like watching room tours on YouTube and when I saw this unicorn dish thing I had to have it as I had been looking for one for ages and it's a unicorn! (and as you can tell I love unicorns). I just keep random bits and bobs on here as at the moment I have sunglasses, body sprays and a mascara.
This was £4

Glittery Unicorn Sign- Primark have loads of different signs in at the moment and I saw this one and it was the only one I really liked as I wanted a small one for the knobs on my wardrobe and this one was a great size. It also says 'dream big' on here and that's super cute and the unicorn is glittery as well.
This was £1.50

My Best Friend Is A Unicorn Wide Shopper- Lastly, I was getting a bit bored of my current PE bag as I had it for a while and I wasn't too keen on the print so I got a new one with a unicorn on because it was cute and the slogan on it will really annoy someone I know as he hates unicorns A LOT.
This was £1.50

As you can see Primark have some really nice things in at the moment for really good prices. I think all of this came to £18.50 or £18 and that's really good. I'm definately going back to Primark soon. If you want more follow me on Twitter (_louisecarter_) or Instagram (thelipstickinsider).

Tesco Haul | May 2016

I've done 2 Tesco Hauls before- one in September 2015 and in February 2016 and I really liked making them so I thought why not make another for May. I mainly bought stationery and magazines but I did buy 2 things from Collection so this haul is a bit random and all over the place hope you don't mind. I did buy this stuff a while ago so some of the magazines are out of date but it didn't really matter.

Ok Magazine Issue 1025- Ok magazine is one of my favourite gossip magazines because usually there's a lot of good interviews and there's also a really good fashion and beauty section. I hadn't read an Ok magazine for a while so I picked one up and I really enjoyed reading it as there was lots of good interviews.
This was £2

Cosmopolitan Magazine May 2016- Cosmopolitan is a magazine I never get (I got it once before) as usually there's a lot about sex (on the front cover is says about sleeping with strangers to pay the rent) but I got it for the Little Mix interview as I love them and I thought it would be a good interview and it was.
This was £1

Closer Magazine- Again Closer magazine isn't a magazine I get but I read it before and liked it so I thought I should get it again and I really liked it. I liked the variety of articles and I liked the couple of interviews. It's not as good as Ok as there's not as many interviews but I like the gossip.
This was £1.60

Tesco 5 Double Chocolate Chip Cookies- Not a magazine but food! Tesco do amazing cookies and I do buy these quite regularly so I got another, My favourite are the double chocolate ones but I also quite like the white chocolate chips but most of the time I get these ones and they're only £1
These were £1

Go Create Fibre Tips 12 Pack- Yes I know I'm not 5 but I did get some felt tips but I do use them. I thought I could keep these in my school bag for revision as when I revise I like to use colourful pens but Sharpies are annoying to use in school as they go all over the table and you have to use loads of sheets of paper as they bleed through the page massively.
These were 75p

Tesco Whiteboard Markers 4 Pack- Recently I bought a whiteboard from Tiger and even though it came with 1 mini marker I thought I should get some which should last for longer and have some colour as sometimes I might want to colour code it or make it look nice or do some drawing on it.
These were £2

Tesco Candy Blossom A4 Document Folder- Being honest I didn't really need this but it had a cute print so I thought I should get it as it was 75p. Although I have been thinking that I could use it in blog photos as a background instead of using my bed as that can be a bit annoying and it's good to have a change of scenery.
This was 75p

Tesco Glue Stick Multipack 2x by 20g- In Geography we always glue sheets in and there's never enough glue sticks so I thought I should get one to keep in my pencil case so I have one and I don't need to go to the front to the class to get one, I can just whip it out and stick it in like a boss.
This was £1

Collection Lasting Colour Lipstick in 18 Pink Diva- You probably know that I love these lipsticks so I picked up another one to try out. It's a deep pink, not quite a berry but a pink and it looks really nice. It's a matte finish and I think that looks really nice with a darker colour.
This was £2.99

Tesco Retractable Ball Pens- Pens are an essential in my life because of school where you always have to write so I got a new pen as they are always run out. I prefer clicky pens as otherwise I loose the lids so I picked up a new pack of these pens as I really like these pens as they make my handwriting look nice.
These were £1.25

Collection Longer Lash Lengthening Mascara- The last makeup piece I picked up was this mascara as I love mascaras so I thought I would pick this one up as I like having long lashes and I hadn't heard of this one before so I wanted to try it. I have tried this out and I really liked it and it made my lashes really long and I like the brush.
This was £2.99

The Sweet Shop Stickers- You're probably wondering why I bought a pack of stickers but I got a pack to decorate my planner as I've started using stickers to decorate it as I thought it would look nice and I really liked the look so I picked up another pack and all of these ones are sweets and cakes and yummy treats.
This was £1

They were all of my purchases and I really like everything as I have been using everything. I definately make some more Tesco Hauls and I also have a Primark Haul coming up so check back for that.

Top 5 TV Shows I'm Loving At The Moment

Usually I'm more of a YouTube fan than a TV fan but recently I've found a couple of TV shows that I really like and wanted to do a Top 5 of the shows I'm loving and they all couldn't fit into a favourites post so I wanted to dedicate a whole post to them. I don't have Netflix so they're all shows on actual TV.

In The Club- Probably a bit of a weird one for a 14 year old but I really like In The Club. It's on BBC and it follows 6-8 women during pregnancy (that was series 1 which I didn't watch) and after and during pregnancy (this current series). The current series is more about the couples and what it's like to have a baby while dealing with other issues such as former relationships, husband in prison and having a baby in a lift!

The Real Housewives Of Cheshire- Moving onto reality TV now I have really been loving The Real Housewives Of Cheshire because I personally prefer reality shows in the UK and I love seeing how the upper class live and I look at their houses and I'm like 'OMG!' It is your basic reality TV show but I like it because it's not as bitchy as some of the others. It airs on ITVbe on a Monday but I always watch it on a Friday or Saturday night because on a Monday I'm tired and want to go to bed.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians- I know I just said I prefer British reality TV series but I love the Kardashians series and I have been watching it quite a bit recently especially with the new series coming out. I'm also envious of their houses as they literally have the same house designs as me so it gives me inspiration for houses even though I'm only 14 and won't be buying a house for a long time.

Eastenders- Now back on our own soil and had to include Eastenders. I go through spells where I don't like it or I'm really into it and that's me now even though I didn't watch it for 4 months but my friend Cerys got me back into after telling me every morning what happened the night before. I feel like all my favourites are leaving so I need some new characters who I actually like.

Friends- Friends is another TV show which I like all of the time and it's another show Cerys got me into because she is obsessed. I've been watching series 10 but I do catch random episodes on Comedy Central and I still have a lot of episodes in my Sky planner to watch so that's me sorted for another month. I think my favourite woman character is Rachel and my favourite man character has to be Joey, I know that's what everyone says but I do really like Jennifer Anniston and Joey is just boss!

That's all of the shows I've been loving recently and if you want to see a Top 5 Favourite YouTubers at the moment I will do that; I also have a lot of Top 5s planned as lots of mini posts which I'm excited to write! For more follow me on Twitter (@_louisecarter_) and Instagram (@thelipstickinsider) because I know you want to.

Week In My Style

I haven't done many fashion posts recently so I thought I would share with you some outfits I have been wearing recently. I would say my sense of style is very casual with lots of leggings and trainers but sometimes I do like to wear a skirt or something a bit more nicer whilst still being casual. I also want to say my photography skills are rubbish so I done flatlays but it's hard to see some of the outfits clearly so sorry.

Outfit 1
So this first outfit is a skirt not leggings. I wore this jumper from Primark which says Bonjour and is very comfy and I pair that with a skater skirt from New Look and I tuck that in. On my feet I wore my denim hi-tops (which you will see a lot in this post) and they add some colour and are a bit alternative to the usual white or black hi-tops. For some more colour I added my coral sactual from Primark which is the perfect spring accessory and adds lots of colour without being too over the top. On top of everything I wore a leather jacket which is from Primark (which you will also see a lot) and I did wear some tights but I thought they looked too ugly in the picture.

Outfit 2
This outfit looks a lot better on than being photographed. This is one of my go-to casual outfits as it's very casual and comfy, what I always want to be. I started off with the leggings from Primark and then chose a nice flowy, neutral colour top and I chose this one from F&F at Tesco but I also have a really nice darker grey one from Primark. I then added my leather jacket as I love it and goes well with the grey/white and black leggings. For my accessories I wore my denim hi-tops for more colour, a snood from Primark to be a bit more dressed up and it's also neutral so it goes with the theme of the outfit and finally my bag was this one from New Look as it's neutral but there's also colour.

Outfit 3
Sorry for my photography skills I know it looks really bad but we're going to have to work with it. The first thing was this wine colour hoodie from Primark and is really comfy and perfect for a day when you can't be bothered. I then wore some leggings also from Primark as if I was having a comfy day I wouldn't be wanting to wear jeans as they are quite uncomfortable. As I had to go out I through on my massive parka coat from Next which keeps you incredibly warm as it's got 2 layers (that's why it looks really weird in the picture). I also through on my most comfiest shoes from Forever 21 and instead of using a bag I used my New Look purse as a mini clutch with my money and phone inside.

Outfit 4
After getting a bit bored of wearing leggings I thought I would switch it up and wear a playsuit. I love this playsuit and it's from Primark and I love it because it's really comfy and is colourful. I also wore my leather jacket to make it more casual and my denim hi tops from Primark also make it casual instead of wearing sandles or heals. To finish this look off I wore my clutch bag from Primark which I love but there's also a shoulder strap which makes the whole look more casual. I did also wear tights but they're ugly in photos. I've also just realised this whole outfit is from Primark #notanad

Outfit 5
The last outfit and the most spring like one of them all. I felt like wearing these jeggings which are from Primark and I based my whole outfit on them. I really like these as they smarter than leggings but not as uncomfy from jeans so it's a good mix. I then paired it with this top from Primark and it's very casual with it being like a perfume bottle and it's really cute. Accessory wise I wore this pink jacket from Peacocks and this jacket goes a lot better than my leather jacket and it's more spring like. I also then wore some flats instead of trainers so I was a bit smarter and the colour palette worked and then I also used this spring bag from Primark which is a gorgeous bubblegum pink colour.

That's some of the outfits I've been wearing recently and I hope this has given you a sense of my style as I rarely do fashion posts and I really need to start doing more as I did really enjoy writing this even if some of the descriptions are a bit rambly and boring as I'm not the best so I need to get some more practice

My Current Lifestyle Faves

So not too long ago I made a My Current Beauty Faves so I thought it would only be fair to share with you all random things I've been loving. Just a warning these stuff are very random but I thought when else would be a good time to share with you them stuff so here they are today.

Corkboard- Recently I bought a corkboard from Wilko and I love it and it's kept me so organised- and it was only £2. I stick some sticky notes at the top with things I need to do and then I have white pieces of paper with blog posts to write and then in the bottom left hand corner I have a list of blog post to do and in the bottom right I have a card which says 'Do what you love'

100% Thirsty Tumbler Cup- Being completely honest I don't really like drinking out of water bottles so I like to use tumbler cups as they're easier as they have a straw, are cute and you can reuse them and I like to protect the environment (lol). This was from Primark but I know they have different designs.

Storage Drawers- Another thing from Primark which I have been loving are these storage drawers which I keep on my desk. My desk had no storage so I got these in Primark and my desk has become a lot cleaner and organised. I also really like the black and white as I'm really into that at the moment.

Washi Tape- I've been using washi tape a lot recently to DIY some things and I really like it as it's a really easy way of DIY-ing especially as I'm really bad at DIY. I have some really cute pastel ones from Tesco and also some black and white vintage looking ones from Wilko and they're also super cute.

Words With Friends App- My sister introduced me to this app and I really like it. Basically it's Scrabble and you play with your friends. I find it hard as I'm the worst at Scrabble but I still really like playing it- I'm probably the queen at passing as I can never make any words. I also like how it's free as I never buy apps which you have to pay for.

Kindle Fire- I've been using my Kindle Fire loads recently and I love it. I don't do that much on it apart from watch YouTube (it's my favourite way to watch YouTube as I hate the YouTube app on my phone and my laptop always shuts down when I watch YouTube) and take blog photos.

Buzzfeed- I've also been loving the Buzzfeed app which I've had for ages but only recently started going on it loads. I do like the YouTube channels as well but I haven't been watching them recently. My favourite Buzzfeed thing is the quizzes and it's the only reason why I go on the app.

Blogging- I've been blogging a lot recently and I really, really enjoy it. There's something I really like about typing and sharing my opinions. I also really like the behind the scenes of it (I recently done a post on that) so that drives me to carry on. I've also had a lot of motivation recently so that's why I've been blogging a lot.

Costa- I love Costa and I do like Starbucks but Costa is the ultimate bae of coffee shops. I really like everything- their hot drinks, cold drinks (you need to try the Belgian Chocolate Creamy Cooler) and paninis, especially the mozzarella, tomato and pesto one. I'm also lucky that I have 2 near me so I can always have Costa!

Blogosphere Magazine- I'm not really fan of reading books but I love reading magazines and my favourite at the moment is Blogosphere. It's not the typical magazine I would go for, which is a gossip one like Ok or Closer, but this is one for bloggers by bloggers and it's really interesting and I really like finding new blogs.

Spotify- Spotify is always a favourite but I thought I would include it as my playlist is very good at the moment and I really enjoy listening to it every night. I have so many songs on it (over 240) but I love them all. I also have some favourite songs at the moment and they are-
-Hands To Myself- Selena Gomez
-No- Meghan Trainor
-Cake By The Ocean- DNCE

New Look Purse- I recently picked up this purse from New Look and I love it. It's massive and I only like big purses and it's really pretty with a cute floral print and the inside is a gorgeous bubblegum pink. This was £12.99 and usually I go for Primark purses but I didn't like any of them and I couldn't not have this one.

I did warn you it was quite random but I hope you didn't mind. Everything I included in this post I really like at the moment. I want to do a fashion faves so if you want to see that then let me know as it would only be fair to.

Behind The Scenes Of Blogging

Today I thought I would share with you want goes on behind the scenes as you don't know and if I was a reader I would really enjoy this post as I like behind the scenes things. These are my secrets on how I plan, take and edit my pictures and write a post.

Planning-
I love planning so this is one point I really enjoy even though I enjoy them all. I have a blogging notebook from WHSmith which I write all of all my plans in for a post such as the concept, thumbnail and what I want to include in each post. I know some people like to do spur of the moment posts and I do occasionally (this one is) but I'm a perfectionist so I want everything to be as good as possible.

Blog Photos-
Whenever I take blog photos I always take them in bulk as I find it easier and so I have good lighting and that's important and it's most helpful in the winter months as I have school when there is good lighting and I don't have time so I like to do them in bulk, even in the spring and summer. I take my blog pictures on my Kindle Fire as I don't have a proper camera but I do want to get one, hopefully for my birthday or Christmas (but both of them are in December).
Editing-
I edit all of my pictures on Picmonkey as that is really easy to edit on. I have edited on here for ages but now my way of editing is just a colourful border as I like them all to be simple. On my old blog and early posts on here I used to have words on all posts but I then didn't like it that much so I changed it and only do text on my thumbnail which I really like as a thumbnail.
Writing-
Writing! I love writing and I can easily wack out a post quickly (today I wrote a long post in 20 minutes). However when I write I have to be in a writing mood so sometimes I put it off as if I'm not in a blogging mood I make loads of mistakes and I don't know what to write and everything is also not as good as if I was in a writing mood. I usually write in the middle of the afternoon (if I'm not at school, before I go to school or late in the evening.

So that my friends is how I make a blog post. I don't have a average length of how long it takes me to write a blog post as sometimes I don't have time so it takes me a couple of days so I do it in chunks or I'll do it in 1 day when I'm on school holiday as I have time and usually I really focus.

Q&A | May 2016

As I said before I'm going to be doing Q&As on the 15th of every month so here is the one for May so here is me answering 15 random questions which I've chosen at complete random!

1.  Are you a good artist?
No I'm rubbish and I hated art at school and I'm so glad I don't have to do it anymore as for my options I chose drama which is a lot better than art.

2. Whats your favourite boyband?
I don't really like boybands but I do like One Direction and I know their old school now so I don't know whether to include them but they're one of my favourites especially as I have been listening to a lot of them recently.

3. How long can you balance on one foot?
About 0.1 seconds as I have the worst balance in the history of balancing.

4. Can you build a house of cards?
I don't know as I've never tried but I probably can't.

5. Whats your favourite precious metal?
I really like gold so I would say that and I really like white and gold at the moment so it has to be gold.

6. If you saw someone drop a £10 note, would you claim it for your own or try to return it to them?
I don't know- I would probably do what I felt at the moment. If I did claim it I wouldn't be able to use it as I would feel scared in case I see that person again and I would be really scared.

7. Have you ever been in or had a food fight?
I haven't been in one but it would be cool to be one but a jokey one with friends.

8. Do you prefer tea, coffee or hot chocolate?
Hot chocolate as I don't like tea or coffee.

9. If you invented a monster what would you call it?
This is probably one but I would make a cute and nice monster called PinkiePie, don't know why but I would.

10. If you had a warning label, what would yours say?
Don't go near me this product is rude and annoying and clumsy.

11. Do you watch the news on TV?
No I read it online

12. What was your first car? (or what would you like it to be?)
My ultimate dream car is a Range Rover but not for a first one so I would want a Mini as it would be cool to drive as a student with the roof down looking like a queen.

13. Are you any good at egg and spoon races?
Probably not as I can't remember but I could probably do one if I was walking but not one if I was running

14. Have you ever handled a snake?
Yes actually I've held one.

15. Have you ever hopelessly failed a test?
No but I used to always fail my mini science tests in primary schools and always have to do re-tests and my year 6 teacher thought I was dumb and put me in to do catchup every Monday lunchtime and it was hell as I knew how to do everything.

That was my May Q&A and remember to check back here this time next month for my June Q&A! For more follow me on Twitter @_louisecarter_ and on Instagram @thelipstickinsider for more updates.

My Pamper Routine

Everyone deserves a pamper evening and even if you are so busy you can still make time for one as afterwards you will feel a lot better and a lot less stressed. I have also done a blog post on Ways To Relax and De-Stress so read that if you want to be de-stressed as this post is all I do on my pamper evening but some of the points do link.

First of all I like to choose a dressing gown, slippers and pyjamas (that I forgot to take a picture off) so I'm really comfy and it's the dressing gown and slippers are good for before I take a bath (oooh spoilers) as I don't want to be wearing the clothes I was wearing that day or walking around naked so a dressing gown and slippers are my best friend. This dressing gown is from F&F at Tesco and my slippers are from Primark and were in my Primark Haul.

I then like to run a bubble bath because I think no pamper evening is complete without a bath as they're very relaxing and you don't get to take a bath everyday so it's a nice treat, especially with a lovely Lush (or any other brand but I like to use Lush) bath bomb and also some lovely bath soak/creme. The bath creme I used was from Tesco and it was the My Senses Shea Butter and Almond Blossom one and I used the last of it so I need to get a new one.

While my bath is running I choose all of the products which I want to use including the bath bomb. Yes I know it's not Christmas but I did use one of the Lush Christmas bath bombs as I still have a view left and this one is the Luxury Lush Pud which made lots of colours and had a very nice scent. I also used a bunch of other products because I like using a lot to pamper myself.
Bath Bomb- Luxury Lush Pud from Lush
Face Wipes- P.S. Love Your Skin Deep Cleansing Face Wipes
Bath Crystals- Beauty Boutique Bath Crystals
Shower Gel- Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel
Bath Creme- Tesco My Senses Bath Creme in Shea Butter and Almond Blossom
Body Scrub- Zoella Scrubbing Me Softly Body Scrub

You probably all know how much I listen to music and as Little Mix put it perfectly 'Music is my drug.' so obviously I would listen to some during my pamper evening. Most people would put on a relaxing, calm playlist but I put on my main playlist, which has over 240 songs, which has a mixture of fast and slow songs and I do like having a bit of a sing song in the bath.

When I come out of the bath I like to do my skincare routine as a pamper routine is about taking care of yourself I also want to take care of my skin and even though I do this everyday, I still like to do it during a pamper evening. Most people would probably do a face mask but to be completely honest I'm not the biggest fan of them and they don't really do that much to your skin or so I heard.

I will then have a nice drink and a naughty little treat. I do eat quite bad on a pamper evening (being honest I eat naughty all of the time) which I know is not the best but sometimes I do have fruit but we didn't have any fruit I like (I'm very picky) so I had an Easter egg which is very naughty and you're probably wondering why I had an Easter egg, it was Good Friday when I took all of the pictures.

I will then sit on my bed with my drink and treat and watch something. Sometimes I watch Friends or any other TV programs or a film but today I wanted to watch some YouTube so I watched some Samantha Maria (formerly known as Beautycrush), Amanda Steel, Fifth Harmony and Estee Lalonde as they were the latest videos to watch in my subscription box.

When I'm in the bath I usually think of a lot of ideas so I like to write them down in my notebook as otherwise I will forget, I've learnt my lesson from this. I'll also write any other thoughts down as the bath is where I get my best thoughts so I need to get them down. This notebook is from Tesco and I love it as it's very Kate Spade-esc (I love the Kate Spade designs) and it was only £1.50 which is amazing for a super cute notebook.

Lastly I will just sort out my hair as I forgot to mention I do usually wash my hair in the bath (not my favourite thing to do but I like washing my hair which is weird) so I need to sort it out if it hasn't airdryed well. As I said I like to air dry it while I'm doing all of my other things as I don't want to put lots of heat on it especially as their hairdryer gets really hot and might damage my hair if i do that all the time.
Shampoo- Boots Apple Shampoo
Conditioner- Boots Apple Conditioner
